Financial Intelligence Development Program

Master practical business analysis skills through hands-on workshops

Our structured program runs from September 2025 through February 2026, bringing together professionals who want to understand financial data better. You'll work through real scenarios, ask questions, and build confidence in your analytical abilities. Classes meet twice weekly in evening sessions designed for working professionals.

We start with reading financial statements without getting lost in jargon. You'll learn what numbers actually mean and which ones matter most for different situations.

Analysis Techniques

Here's where things get interesting. You'll practice spotting trends, comparing performance across time periods, and identifying patterns that suggest opportunities or problems.

January 2026

Applied Projects

The final module brings everything together. Working in small groups, you'll analyze actual business scenarios and present findings—which is nerve-wracking but incredibly valuable.

Portrait of Roderick Tanaka, program facilitator

Roderick Tanaka

Program Facilitator

Roderick spent fifteen years working with Malaysian SMEs before designing this program in 2023. He realized most business owners felt intimidated by financial analysis—not because it's impossibly complex, but because nobody explained it in plain terms.

His teaching style is conversational. Expect lots of examples, frequent check-ins to make sure everyone's following along, and honest answers when someone asks "why does this even matter?"

Previous cohorts appreciated his patience with "basic" questions and his willingness to repeat explanations using different approaches until concepts clicked.

What Actually Happens in Sessions

Classes aren't lectures where you sit passively taking notes. Each session includes worked examples, small group discussions, and time to practice techniques yourself with guidance available.

We use real anonymized data from Malaysian businesses across retail, manufacturing, and services. You'll see both healthy companies and struggling ones—learning to read the warning signs matters as much as recognizing success.

  • Maximum 16 participants per cohort to ensure everyone gets attention
  • Access to recorded sessions if you miss a class or want to review
  • Practice datasets you can work through at your own pace
  • Optional follow-up consultations after program completion
